Empowering Lives, Transforming Futures

At Compassion International Ghana, we are dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by nurturing the spiritual, educational, and physical well-being of children and youth, enabling them to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.

Who We Are.

Compassion International Ghana (CIGH) was established in 2005 and partners with evangelical churches, currently collaborating with over 418 church partners across 33 denominations in 12 out of 16 regions of Ghana. CIGH responds to the needs of over 99,394 children, youth, and their households living in poverty. Our mission involves facilitating opportunities for children and youth to develop their God-given potential, empowering them through spiritual nurturing, career development, health, and overall well-being. Our aim is to reach and transform the lives of 150,000 children and youth in poverty-stricken communities by 2030.

As a member of the Compassion International group, which has been in existence for over seven decades, Compassion International is recognized globally for its commitment to long-term holistic child and youth development. Compassion International is regarded as the world’s leading authority in holistic child development through sponsorships. These sponsorships and donations empower local churches to provide individualized and holistic care, enabling children in poverty to learn, grow, play, and dream. The head office of Compassion International is located in Colorado Springs, USA, and it operates in 29 countries, including ten in Africa. In East Africa, we have a presence in Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, and Tanzania, while in West Africa, we operate in Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Togo.
