Compassion’s child protection program primarily focuses on prevention and response. The prevention component comprises of education for stakeholders (caregivers and participants) and sensitization for community members. The response component comprises medical and psychosocial support and assessment to ensure that the child is safe. There is also the safeguarding component which involves a code of conduct that guides interaction with participants. This is renewed every year and applies to all staff and partners who interact directly with the sponsored children.
